In November, fifteen students in grades 6-8 competed in our annual spelling bee. After studying a list of over 400 words, eighth-grade student, Olivia Faber, won the bee with the championship word “undine”. Olivia will go on to represent WA virtually at the regional qualifiers on February 23. The Upper School Student Council led the efforts to collect food and donations for the people who were impacted by Hurricane Ian. WA students and families answered the call and collected over 3,500 items. Along with donations, several students also joined with Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church to serve those in Ft. Myers devasted by Hurricane Ian. Students helped distribute the donations, served meals, and cleaned homes damaged by the storm. We are proud of our students as we see the characteristics of our Portrait of a Graduate clearly on display!...

Congratulations to WA Alumnus Michael A. Taylor from the Class of 2009 for receiving his first Gold Glove Award! We are proud of his work and accomplishments. The Westminster Academy Alumni Association and Athletic Department honored Taylor in February of 2020 by retiring his baseball jersey #3. Never again will another student-athlete represent WA on the baseball field with #3. Previously, the Alumni Association inducted Taylor into Westminster Academy’s Athletic Hall of Honor in 2015.
