A Word from Dr. Satterly—May 23, 2024

Dear WA Community,

Tomorrow night is the Commencement of the Westminster Academy Class of 2024. As with our time and resources, at Westminster Academy, we are intentional with our words. While “graduation” is the more commonly used word and signifies the fulfillment of a set of requirements, “commencement” more closely aligns with our mission. Tomorrow night, we will celebrate not just the fulfillment of requirements but the dedication to excellence seen in the Class of 2024—a dedication that we pray will remain strong as they transition from being Westminster Academy students to alumni and begin a new chapter of their lives in college.

We look forward to hearing from Dr. Philip G. Ryken, author and president of Wheaton College, as he encourages our students to live out our Portrait of a Graduate during Friday night’s Commencement Ceremony.

Tonight, we will gather for the Baccalaureate Service for the Class of 2024 and hear from Dr. Robert J. Pacienza ’99, the Senior Pastor of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church. Afterward, the Lions Parent Association will host a reception in the DeVos Chapel for the families and friends of the graduates.

For those unable to attend or with families out of town, the Baccalaureate and Commencement Ceremonies for the Class of 2024 will be live-streamed tonight and tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. at coralridge.tv.

A special thank you goes to all those who impacted our seniors during their educational journey at Westminster Academy. Praise God for His people, provisions, and providential blessings as we send off another exceptional group of leaders, disciples, and ambassadors for God’s glory.

To God be the Glory!

Dr. Joel Satterly
