We loved seeing so many families come out for the Back-To-School Tailgate to support our team! Special thanks to the Lions Parent Association for decorating cars and welcoming families. The Lions Football team kicked off their season with a 52–0 victory over the Boca Christian Blazers on Friday night. The Lions’ offense cruised to over 400 yards of total offense while the defense held tight for a shutout. Miriam Avila, P.E. Teacher and Assistant Swimming Coach—Coach Avila graduated from Kansas State University with a Master’s Degree in Public Health with an emphasis in physical activity. Coach Avila will conduct P.E. classes for lower school and middle school girls. Originally from Mexico, she is passionate about understanding and educating people about healthy behavior. We are looking forward to another exciting year in athletics at WA. We will be selling the stadium-style box seating in the gymnasium and football stadium to help raise funds for the basketball, cheer, football, and volleyball programs. This unique seating is an excellent opportunity to help raise extra funds for our athletic programs and provide a comfortable and unique athletic experience for our parents, grandparents, and fans.
