Dear WA Community, More than a year ago, as one group met to deal with the challenges of COVID, another part of our team gathered to begin dreaming about our 50th Anniversary Celebration. Both groups understood the significance of Christian education in this cultural moment. That first group of educators resolved to find a way to open our campus because education is fundamentally a relational exchange that is best conducted face to face. For the second consecutive year, we celebrated 100% giving participation to the Annual Fund from our faculty and staff in August. Building on the example set by our faculty and staff, we will launch a 5-Day Annual Fund Drive tomorrow, October 22, and aim to reach 50% parent participation by the 50th day of school on Thursday, October 28. The MS Volleyball (Red) team ended their season with a 1st-place finish in the South Florida Middle School League Tournament. On Tuesday, October 12, the team defeated Somerset Miramar in the Semifinal game in two sets and then faced the University School Sharks on Thursday, October 14, where they stole the victory 2–0 after two very tight sets. Congratulations to the Middle School Volleyball team! The Junior Varsity Volleyball team took second place in a competitive end-of-season tournament hosted by Alonzo Mourning High School. Register now for the 10th Annual Westminster Academy Sporting Clay Tournament presented by Southern Painting on Friday, December 10, at Quail Creek Sporting Ranch in Okeechobee. Spend the day in the great outdoors! Participants will enjoy a country breakfast, then take aim at clay pigeons on a 14-station course, and end the event with a hearty lunch. All skill levels are welcome to participate! We are also looking for businesses and families to sponsor the event.
