We are so proud of the Westminster Academy Junior Thespian Troupe. They competed at the district level Thespian competition and walked away with six superior and six excellent performance rankings! Camilla Zayas-Cruz also received Critic’s Choice for her solo performance. She was chosen by the judges in her room as the top performance of that day. Way to go, Camilla! Congratulations to our choir students for their acceptance into the Florida Vocal Association’s 2022 All-State Chorus! The following students competed, auditioned, and achieved this honor: Pauline Baxter, Nola Fontaine, Ben Griswold, Olivia Oropesa, Lawrence Parker, Danny Puce, Madison Sanders, Belen Vera, and Michael White. Their hard work and successful auditions, theory test, and sight-singing exam make these students among the top in our state! The All-State Chorus is a highly select group of choral students from Florida’s middle/junior high and senior high schools. Dear WA Community, More than a year ago, as one group met to deal with the challenges of COVID, another part of our team gathered to begin dreaming about our 50th Anniversary Celebration. Both groups understood the significance of Christian education in this cultural moment. That first group of educators resolved to find a way to open our campus because education is fundamentally a relational exchange that is best conducted face to face. For the second consecutive year, we celebrated 100% giving participation to the Annual Fund from our faculty and staff in August. Building on the example set by our faculty and staff, we will launch a 5-Day Annual Fund Drive tomorrow, October 22, and aim to reach 50% parent participation by the 50th day of school on Thursday, October 28.
