Whether as a participant or a fan, athletics is a significant part of the Westminster Academy experience. We appreciate the important role that competition and teamwork play in the development of our students. In recent weeks, we, along with the other members of the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA), have anxiously anticipated guidance from that organization. As some of you may know, the FHSAA board met last Friday, August 14. At that meeting, the fall athletic calendar was adjusted to begin on Monday, August 24. Westminster Academy is excited to begin the 2020–21 high school athletic season next Monday. The...

His top mark of 15.26 in the shot put and 47.10 in the discus placed him in the top 3 State Series rankings in both events. Newcomers, Joshua Joseph and Ryan Mickow will have huge shoes to fill. In addition, Taliyah Mizell won the high jump and...

The Men’s Water Polo team had a tremendous season. If not for the premature ending, they would have likely finished with a district title and a strong shot at qualifying for the state tournament. Commitment and hard work were the keys to their success. They started the preseason with challenging captain’s practices. Additionally, many of the players did double training by adding a practice during the morning hours before school. There were many new faces this season, and Coach Dani Cercols was pleasantly surprised how fast they learned. The team finished the shortened season with 6 wins and 3 losses. They...
