At Westminster Academy, it is our goal to instill a desire for lifelong learning within each student. We also model that through our faculty and staff with professional development and continuing education. With that in mind, we would like to congratulate our headmaster, Dr. Joel Satterly, for completing the Doctor of Ministry program through Knox Theological Seminary—a journey that began during the pandemic and was completed in 20 months. Our annual auction, The Golden Ticket, presented by Benedetti Orthodontics, was a huge success with gross proceeds of $440,000, setting an all-time high in our 50-year history! This includes $65,000 raised for the new WA branded activity bus. In addition, we received a $50,000 match! When we launched our 50th Anniversary with the Celebration Weekend in the fall, we opened the time capsule from 1996 during a special chapel. This spring, following our National Day of Prayer Chapel, we prayed for the future students, our current student body, and those who will follow. As we approach the end of the school year, we are excited to share that we have several student-athletes extending their seasons! Varsity Softball won Districts for the second consecutive year—defeating Highlands Christian in the semifinals 15–0 and Miami Country Day in the Finals 17–0. They recently won the Regional Quarterfinal game to advance to the Regional Semifinals. Varsity Baseball also won Districts for the second consecutive year. They defeated The Sagemont School in a 6–2 battle and then defeated Sagemont again and more decisively in the Regional Quarterfinals 14–4 and will play in the Regional Semifinals on Saturday, May 14.
