During the week of September 19, students in grades six and up went to Vero Beach for their Spiritual Retreats. During this time, they worshiped together and heard from WA alumnus Will Buschmann ’12, the Student Ministries Director at Rio Vista Church, who talked about the importance of their relationship with God and how to keep it strong. Later in the day, activities began that fostered team building with other students and teachers, like kayaking, bike riding, basketball, cupcake decorating, and paintballing. The Homecoming Game is tomorrow night at the west campus Athletic Complex, located at 3701 NW 44 Street in Lauderdale Lakes. The Lions Varsity Football team will take on the University School Sharks! Hurricane Ian has severely impacted the homes, communities, and lives of our neighbors on the west coast of Florida. Our students have started a collection drive, and items can be dropped off at the school by Friday, October 21. WA parents, our first Coffee with the LPA will be held on Friday, October 21, from 8-9:15 a.m. in the DeVos Chapel (Northeast corner of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church). The Lady Lions Volleyball program hosted its annual Pink Night on Tuesday, October 4, where it helped raise awareness for breast cancer. The day kicked off with students, faculty, and staff members being able to wear pink for the day for a minimum donation of $1. The evening included a four-game series against the Boca Christian Blazers. A bake sale and a donation table gave families and fans an opportunity to support the cause. The proceeds from the day were donated to the Dorothy Mangurian Comprehensive Women’s Center at Holy Cross Hospital to aid in the fight against breast cancer....
