11 Nov Pre-Med Guatemala Fall Service Trip
Last month, our Pre-Med Club traveled to Guatemala for a week of meaningful service and ministry. The team completed a 20-stove installation project, providing families with safer and more efficient cooking options. At children’s clinics in Santiago Zamora, San Luisito, and San Lorenzo el Tejar, they offered medical and dental care to nearly 800 children.
We are especially grateful to Dr. Rhonda Goodman, Dr. Tomas Breza, Dr. Jennifer Boeri, Ms. Alexandra Garcia, and Andrea Garcia for their dedicated medical service, and to Dr. Perla Alvarenga, Mrs. Melissa Ruiz, and students for leading the dental education and fluoride treatments.
The team also shared a special lunch with the Women’s Cooperative, learning about the vital role women play in their community. Each evening concluded with reflection and discussion, helping students grow in faith, compassion, and understanding of global service.
This trip was a powerful experience, equipping students to serve as the hands and feet of Jesus while gaining medical insight and developing lifelong empathy and cultural appreciation.
