USA Water Polo selected WA seventh-grade student, David Maxson, to join the Olympic Development Program Regional Team. Since almost 500 student-athletes participated in the selection process, we congratulate him on this accomplishment! USA Water Polo is the National Governing Body for water polo in the United States. Because their mission includes the development pipeline of future athletes for the Olympic Games, USA Water Polo launched an official Olympic Development Program in 2009. Men’s Varsity Soccer looks to claim another district trophy this year, which would give WA a back-to-back district championship. The goal looks attainable since FHSAA recently ranked WA as the #1 seed heading into District competition next week. This ranking gives the team a bye-week and allows them to prepare for the District Semifinals on Tuesday, February 4. The opponent and time are currently TBD. Westminster Academy Alumni Association and the Athletic Department will honor our World Series Champion, Michael A. Taylor ’09, on Saturday, February 1. Join the WA community for the Winter Court Game and a pre-game ceremony at 6:30 p.m. as we retire baseball jersey #3. The Alumni Association inducted Michael into Westminster Academy’s Athletic Hall of Honor in 2015. However, with his recent World Series accomplishment with the Washington Nationals, he deserves this highest honor.
