Varsity Ladies’ Soccer clinched the 2A Regional Championship by defeating Lake Worth Christian 3-0 on Tuesday evening! Now it is on to States for the third time in the program's history and the first time since 2016. Westminster Academy will represent Region 4 at the Class 2A Semifinals in St. Petersburg on Friday, February 21, at 7:00 p.m. The Lions will take on Shorecrest Prep Chargers from Region 3. Once again, WA has enjoyed a “Winter Wonderland” this February. Thanks to our student-athletes, our school celebrated district championship wins for each of our varsity winter sports for the second year in a row. Our soccer teams were the first to win titles. Ladies’ Soccer prevailed against the South Florida Heat with a 2-1 win at the District Finals. Then, Men’s Soccer mimicked the same success. USA Water Polo selected WA seventh-grade student, David Maxson, to join the Olympic Development Program Regional Team. Since almost 500 student-athletes participated in the selection process, we congratulate him on this accomplishment! USA Water Polo is the National Governing Body for water polo in the United States. Because their mission includes the development pipeline of future athletes for the Olympic Games, USA Water Polo launched an official Olympic Development Program in 2009.
