We loved seeing so many families come out for the Back-To-School Tailgate to support the Varisty Lions Football Team! Lions Athletic Club Golf Tournament Registration is now open for the Lions Athletic Club Golf Tournament presented by Audi Fort Lauderdale on Monday, September 26! The Lions Athletic Club (LAC) is hosting the event at the Coral Ridge Country Club. All proceeds will enhance the WA athletic program, including facilities, equipment, and training, to empower our student-athletes to excel both on and off the field. We are looking forward to another exciting year in athletics at WA. We will be selling the stadium-style box seating in the gymnasium and football stadium to help raise funds for the basketball, cheer, football, and volleyball programs. This unique seating is an excellent opportunity to help raise extra funds for our athletic programs and provide a comfortable and unique athletic experience for our parents, grandparents, and fans. As we approach the end of the school year, we are excited to share that we have several student-athletes extending their seasons! Varsity Softball won Districts for the second consecutive year—defeating Highlands Christian in the semifinals 15–0 and Miami Country Day in the Finals 17–0. They recently won the Regional Quarterfinal game to advance to the Regional Semifinals. Varsity Baseball also won Districts for the second consecutive year. They defeated The Sagemont School in a 6–2 battle and then defeated Sagemont again and more decisively in the Regional Quarterfinals 14–4 and will play in the Regional Semifinals on Saturday, May 14. The Lady Lions Basketball Team won the State Championship after defeating Cardinal Mooney 44–41 in Lakeland! The road to the championship was paved with several tournaments, including the Insider Exposure Tournament in Jacksonville, the Shark Showdown in Naples, the Tampa Bay Invitational in Tampa, and the She Got Game Tournament in Atlanta.
