We are excited to announce the new FACTS Family App. Available for both iOS and Android, the app is a great way to have quick access to important information that you would normally find in the FACTS Family Portal—grades, homework, billing, school calendars, and more. Search for Westminster Academy in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Be sure to allow notifications, create a profile, and select your interests. In the last few weeks, our students in Grades 6–8 partnered with the CROS Ministries Gleaning Program for their service project day. They helped to carry out their “food recovery strategy that allows produce that is below top-market grade or unmarketable, but equally nutritious and beneficial, to be harvested and distributed to the food insecure of Palm Beach and Martin Counties instead of being plowed back into the soil.” Farmers donate the excess produce that they cannot sell to CROS Ministries then volunteers are mobilized to harvest the produce. Last week was full of school spirit in honor of Winter Court with dress-up days for even our youngest lions, the Winter Court presentation in the upper school chapel, and Friday’s pep rally. All festivities led up to the WA Lions basketball game on Saturday, February 5, against The Benjamin School Buccaneers. The Lions entered the game with a 17–6 record and defeated the Buccaneers 74–54. The game was not the only crowning achievement celebrated. Each year, the Broward County Non-Public School Association honors exceptional students. The Pinnacle Award recognizes students who set an example in their actions at home, in school, and in the community.
