It is with great excitement that the Lower School announces the addition of a math enrichment program for grades 3–5 titled “M3 Adventure.” This program utilizes the M3 Mentoring Mathematical Minds curriculum which is a National Association for Gifted Children's Curriculum Studies Award Winner. It was designed for gifted and high ability students and was developed at the University of Connecticut NEAG School of Education's Renzulli Center for Creativity. We are proud to announce that Westminster Academy is now a full member of council with the Council on Educational Standards and Accountability (CESA). We cannot emphasize enough how this acceptance is truly a mark of distinction among Christian schools, with just over 40 schools in the nation and only three schools—including WA—in Florida. CESA was founded on the idea that academic rigor and programmatic excellence in all areas are inherent to discipleship, not contradictory. Every year, the National Football Foundation hosts the Brian Piccolo Award Banquet. This awards dinner pays tribute to the late Brian Piccolo, a standout football player for St. Thomas Aquinas, Wake Forest, and the NFL with the Chicago Bears. In addition, it gathers 40 senior student-athletes from Broward County schools who excelled both academically and on the football field. Last week, senior Donovan Lassiter would have attended.
