2022 Pinnacle Award Winners

2022 Pinnacle Award Winners

Each year, the Broward County Non-Public School Association honors exceptional students. The Pinnacle Award recognizes students who set an example in their actions at home, in school, and in the community. In addition, they excel in one or more of these areas: academics, community service, citizenship, fine arts, athletics, and student activities.

Congratulations to the following students:

  • Avery Carvell, 5th-grade—Avery consistently displays perseverance and effort in her commitment to academics and is viewed by her peers as kind-hearted, inclusive, and having a positive attitude. She is involved in both soccer and orchestra, and she was among a select group of students invited to perform at a special Christmas chapel. She is an exemplary individual who strives for success in her academics, athletics, performing arts, and community. As a shining example of WA’s Portrait of a Graduate, Avery displays strong Christian character through her compassion, diligence, respect, and integrity.
  • Madison Sanders, 8th-grade—Madison is a kind and positive young lady who stands out to her teachers. She always has a smile on her face and is attentive in all of her classes. She excels in the classroom, as indicated in her induction to the National Junior Honor Society, but also contributes greatly to the Fine Arts through music and drama. In addition, Madison has a supportive and encouraging attitude towards her classmates and a genuine spirit of Christian character in all that she does.
  • Joshua Joseph, 12th-grade—Joshua is highly respected by his coaches, teachers, peers, and teammates. He is determined to succeed, taking a challenging curriculum that has earned him the designation of AP Scholar. Joshua has played varsity football all four years in high school and was appointed team captain as a junior because of his positive and encouraging attitude and consistent work ethic, which earned him the award for the most improved player for the 2020–21 school year. He has been a member of our concert orchestra and jazz band, playing first chair double bass since fifth grade. His enthusiasm is contagious, and his leadership inspires others to serve alongside him and work towards excellence. Joshua seeks to honor God in all he does and is known for his outstanding Christian character.

We are proud to call these students WA Lions!
