The high school choir performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City on April 3 as part of the Masterworks Festival Chorus with the New York City Chamber Orchestra. Select schools from around the country make up the choir of 200 voices as they performed “Jubilate Deo” by Dan Forrest and conducted by Dr. Pearl Shangkuan. Dan Forrest was also commissioned to write the arrangement of Great is Thy Faithfulness for Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church’s 60th anniversary last year. Last week was full of school spirit in honor of Winter Court with dress-up days, hallway decorations, the Winter Court presentation in the Upper School chapel, and Friday’s pep rally. All festivities led up to the WA Lions basketball game on Saturday, February 4, against Saint John Paul II Eagles. The Lions, who rank #3 in their division, defeated the Eagles 78–56. On January 27, High School students spent the day volunteering in the community for Service Project Day. Each grade served at a different local non-profit organization. Students in 9th grade attended The Fruitful Field, where they worked in the community garden and helped to provide fresh produce to underserved families in the community, and at Feeding South Florida, where they packed 10,000 pounds of food.
