Upper school students heard from renowned author and speaker Tony Reinke in chapel. He addressed technology, cell phones, social media, and their impact on our lives. Recently, Westminster Academy hosted the Christian College Fair. There were 32 Christian colleges from across the nation set up to visit with our students in the James F. Lindsay Gymnasium. Juniors and seniors spoke with college representatives to learn what each school offers. Often, the college representatives who visit are the ones who are reading through applications, so this opportunity to connect can make a significant impact. We are pleased to announce that Steve Feeley will join us as our new Director of Security in September. Steve was born in Naperville, Illinois, but was raised in Pompano Beach, Florida. He attended Saint Coleman Catholic School and was in the 2nd grade the day it snowed in Florida!  He attended Cardinal Gibbons High School. A year after graduation, he took a job with the Broward Sheriff’s Office in 1989. On Wednesday, May 10, we had the privilege of having Dr. Ben Carson on campus to speak to students in grades K–12. Dr. Carson has served as the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development and the Chief of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, among many other accomplishments. In 2016, Dr. Carson accepted the position of Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under the Trump administration.
