The Westminster Academy High School Concert Band, Concert Orchestra, and Choirs will present a special Christmas program, “Lessons & Carols,” on Tuesday, December 10, at 7:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church. Based on “A Festival of Lessons and Carols,” this program features our talented students celebrating the birth of Christ. This classic worship service was first held on Christmas Eve in 1918 at King’s College in England. This year, our Lower and Middle Schools will be doing a production of Mary Poppins Jr., and our High School is gearing up for The Sound of Music! Students who are in the third-eighth grade have the opportunity next week to audition for all the roles in Mary Poppins Jr., and also for the five younger von Trapp children in The Sound of Music. The National Honor Society, together with OneBlood, is sponsoring a blood drive on Tuesday, November, from 9:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. This event helps maintain the emergency blood supply in our community and also raises funds for the “Meg Beaupied Memorial Scholarship” and the “Spirit of NHS Award.” These funds go to graduating seniors annually. Parents, faculty, staff, and high school students who are at least sixteen years old, please consider donating blood.
