Several of our fine arts students will be performing at the state level. Congratulations to Maddie Settembrino and Kendall Shelton on being accepted into the 2023 All-State Choir! They will perform in Tampa at the 2023 Florida Music Education Association Professional Development Conference & All-State Concerts! Our Portrait of a Graduate is both aspirational and a reality now. We aim to cultivate students who are Christ-followers, community builders, committed to excellence, critical thinkers, and compassionate contributors. This semester students have volunteered, collected resources, and raised funds for the following organizations: Volleyball teams raised $1076.28 for Holy Cross Health–Partners in Breast Health through Pink Night. National Honor Society hosted two blood drives with OneBlood collecting over 50 units of blood, a school record since 2011! This represents over 100 lives saved! In November, fifteen students in grades 6-8 competed in our annual spelling bee. After studying a list of over 400 words, eighth-grade student, Olivia Faber, won the bee with the championship word “undine”. Olivia will go on to represent WA virtually at the regional qualifiers on February 23. Members from the Westminster Academy National Honor Society visited the Lauderdale Lakes Alzheimer’s Center to sing and make crafts with those served by the Center. It is the first time since 2019 that they have been able to visit due to COVID-19. Students were excited to return as this has been a regular part of their service to the community. In October, the Westminster Academy National Junior Honor Society inducted its newest members.
