The Lions Parent Association will host a fishing tournament on Friday, March 31. The tournament will begin at 7:30 a.m. from the Hillsboro Inlet. Weigh-ins will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Sands Harbor Resort & Marina, followed by an awards ceremony at 4:00 p.m. You may use your own boat or join us on a drift boat that will be available. Effective as of January 1, Dr. Ron Farrar has been promoted to the position of Assistant Headmaster in addition to his role as Upper School Principal. During Christmas Break, our Men’s Basketball Team traveled to Bristol, Tennesee, to play in the 39th Annual Arby’s Classic Basketball Tournament. While the tournament was happening, Mary Elbert ’01 Herrera, a Westminster Academy alumna who now lives in Tennessee, took her family to the tournament to cheer on her alma mater. While watching the game from the bleachers, the Herrera family bonded with the basketball families. Re-enrollment for the 2023–24 school year is just around the corner. Next week, all currently enrolled families will receive an email with details about the re-enrollment process. The preferred enrollment window for our current families begins on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, the first day of the second semester, and concludes on January 31. Last year we had a 92% retention rate and high interest from new families, which resulted in waiting lists.
