In November, fifteen students in grades 6-8 competed in our annual spelling bee. After studying a list of over 400 words, eighth-grade student, Olivia Faber, won the bee with the championship word “undine”. Olivia will go on to represent WA virtually at the regional qualifiers on February 23. Registration is nearing capacity for the 11th Annual Westminster Academy Sporting Clay Tournament presented by Fusion Powder Coating on Friday, December 2, at Quail Creek Sporting Ranch in Okeechobee. Spend the day in the great outdoors! Participants will enjoy a country breakfast, then take aim at clay pigeons on a 14-station course, and end the event with a hearty lunch. Our third 5-Day Annual Fund Drive held in late October was a great success raising $88,500, which includes a generous $25,000 matching gift! The goal was to reach 50% parent participation by the 50th day of school. We are so grateful for 243 current families who have already made a donation this school year. While we are still making progress towards 50% parent participation, we are confident we will reach our goal by December 31. For the third consecutive year, we celebrated 100% giving participation to the Annual Fund from our faculty, staff, and school board in August. Building on the example set by our faculty and staff, we will launch our Annual Fund Drive on October 21, and aim to reach 50% parent participation by the 50th day of school on Thursday, October 27.
