Our awesome WA Junior Thespians spent last weekend in Orlando at the Florida State Junior Thespian Festival. These talented 6th–8th-grade students attended performance workshops, then competed in multiple events to showcase their acting, singing, and overall performance abilities. To qualify to attend the State Festival, they first had to compete and receive a high enough score at the District level, which happened locally in November. At that competition, nine of our performance and technical theater “events” scored in that range, so those events are what the students then presented in Orlando. Westminster Academy 8th-grade student, Camilla Zayas-Cruz, performed as part of the Florida Youth Orchestra during the commemoration of Pearl Harbor’s 80 Anniversary on December 7 in Honolulu, Hawaii. The commemoration event included bands, choirs, and dance ensembles from across the United States but they were the only orchestra and the only group representing Florida. We look forward to seeing her commitment to excellence create even more opportunities to share the gifts and talents that God has given her. Congratulations Camilla!...

To see a list of cast, characters, performers, and singers, you may view/download the Madrigal Program. Madrigal singing—brought to England from Italy in the 16th century—was first...

Congratulations to our choir students for their acceptance into the Florida Vocal Association’s 2022 All-State Chorus! The following students competed, auditioned, and achieved this honor: Pauline Baxter, Nola Fontaine, Ben Griswold, Olivia Oropesa, Lawrence Parker, Danny Puce, Madison Sanders, Belen Vera, and Michael White. Their hard work and successful auditions, theory test, and sight-singing exam make these students among the top in our state! The All-State Chorus is a highly select group of choral students from Florida’s middle/junior high and senior high schools. These students are brought together for the purposes of rehearsing and performing selected music with guest conductors. In January,...
