We are excited to announce the new FACTS Family App. Available for both iOS and Android, the app is a great way to have quick access to important information that you would normally find in the FACTS Family Portal—grades, homework, billing, school calendars, and more. Search for Westminster Academy in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Be sure to allow notifications, create a profile, and select your interests. Last week was full of school spirit in honor of Winter Court with dress-up days for even our youngest lions, the Winter Court presentation in the upper school chapel, and Friday’s pep rally. All festivities led up to the WA Lions basketball game on Saturday, February 5, against The Benjamin School Buccaneers. The Lions entered the game with a 17–6 record and defeated the Buccaneers 74–54. The game was not the only crowning achievement celebrated. Each year, the Broward County Non-Public School Association honors exceptional students. The Pinnacle Award recognizes students who set an example in their actions at home, in school, and in the community. Our awesome WA Junior Thespians spent last weekend in Orlando at the Florida State Junior Thespian Festival. These talented 6th–8th-grade students attended performance workshops, then competed in multiple events to showcase their acting, singing, and overall performance abilities. To qualify to attend the State Festival, they first had to compete and receive a high enough score at the District level, which happened locally in November. At that competition, nine of our performance and technical theater “events” scored in that range, so those events are what the students then presented in Orlando.
