This morning, February 1, the Lower School Lions had Chapel with their favorite basketball team: the Varsity WA Lions. The high school students shared Matthew 7:7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” The team encouraged these young students to use the Nike slogan “Just do it” and follow God’s Word—go to the Lord in prayer....

Last week was full of school spirit in honor of Winter Court with dress-up days, the Winter Court presentation, and Friday’s pep rally. All festivities led up to the WA Lions basketball game on Friday, January 19, against the Somerset Academy Canyons.The Lions entered the game with six consecutive wins, most recently against Calvary Christian, and wanted to add another to that record. Two state champions met on the basketball court Thursday, January 11, at Calvary Christian Academy. WA, holding the Class 4A state title from last year, started out strong against Calvary who holds the Class 5A title from last year. The Lions led 29-12 at the end of the first quarter, and never looked back. While Calvary pushed hard, they were never able to take the lead and only closed the deficit to 12.This win over Calvary is the sixth consecutive win for the WA Lions.
