The Lower School/PREP Fun Run was held in early February and was a huge success, beating the original goal and raising over $60,000! These funds will help provide for STEM lab enhancements and communication upgrades. Congratulations to Miss Johnston’s kindergarten class, the top donating class, who earned a special lunch with Dr. Satterly, the WA varsity basketball players, and the WA cheerleaders! Students from PK2 through sixth grade spent two weeks getting pledges and receiving prizes. We’re looking forward to a week of school spirit in honor of Winter Court with dress-up days, hallway decorations, the Winter Court representative’s presentation in the Upper School chapel, and Friday’s pep rally. All festivities lead to the Winter Court Men’s Varsity Basketball game at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 2, against Taravella High School. Our annual dinner auction, Passport to Paris, presented by Benedetti Orthodontics, will be held on Friday, March 22, at 6:30 p.m. at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa. We were honored to welcome Dr. Alveda King to our campus last week. Dr. King is the niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. She is an author, speaker, and activist with a passion for the pro-life cause. Dr. King serves as a Senior Fellow at the Institute for Faith & Culture and is the Chair of the Center for the American Dream at America First Policy Institute. This fall, our Advancement Team launched our Student Ambassador Program. These high school students serve the office of the Headmaster and the Advancement Team, representing Westminster Academy on campus and in our community. Student ambassadors share the mission and story of our school at various events with current and prospective families. As part of the experience, the student ambassadors were invited by the D.
