The time-honored tradition of Homecoming is next week! On Friday, September 27, the Lions Varsity Football Team will take on Northwest Christian at 7:00 p.m. at the west campus Athletic Complex. However, a lot of fanfare and activity will commence first with a Homecoming Tailgate, sponsored by Collision Care Xpress. The Westminster Academy Alumni Association will hold their annual induction ceremony for the Athletic Hall of Honor on Friday, September 27, at 5:30 p.m. before the Homecoming game. The Hall of Honor exists to recognize the men and women who made outstanding contributions to the WA athletic program. Since 1971, the WA Lions have a distinguished athletic legacy. To celebrate exceptional alumni and coaches, plaques are displayed on the Hall of Honor at the main campus. Congratulations to Angie Marks ’93 Matsoff, our 2019 Distinguished Alumni Award recipient. Angie Marks ’93 Matsoff is a tremendous example of having the Lion Spirit. Shortly after graduation from Westminster Academy, and just weeks before heading to college, Angie was diagnosed with Stargardt’s disease. This juvenile macular degeneration is an incurable eye disease that typically results in a loss of central vision over time. Within a year, Angie's vision deteriorated and declared legally blind. In spite of it, Angie completed her courses and received a degree in Health & Fitness from Baylor University in 1997. Time spent running became a way of...

On Tuesday, May 14, the Alumni Association held their annual LaSpadas luncheon for seniors and alumni. The Alumni Association welcomed the class of 2019 into the fold by challenging and encouraging these newest members. Sarah Abadines ‘04 Maba, Aaron Bibbee ‘12, and Vince Trombino ‘17, each shared reflections. Above all, each explained how God continued to work in their lives after graduating from WA. Prior to the luncheon, the upper school chapel celebrated the graduating class with the annual senior chapel.
