Lower School

Save the date for Friday, April 24, for our 10th Annual Fishing Tournament brought to you by The Lions Parent Association! The tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 7:00 a.m. from the Hillsboro Inlet. Then, weigh-ins will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Nauti Dawg Marina Cafe. The day will conclude with dinner and an awards ceremony by the WA pool at 6:00 p.m. You may use your own boat or join us on a drift boat that will be available. More details to be announced soon! The third quarter of Discover, lower school’s after school enrichment activities, begins next week. Many activities are full; however, we invite you to click here to log in or create an account and register your student for the remaining openings. The following are the programs offered for the third quarter: Mondays: Art with Miss Salas (PK4–1st) in the lower school art room from 3:15–4:15 p.m. Price: $160 per quarter plus $10 supply fee Cheerleading with Mrs. Applegate (Girls in K–5th) in the lower school music room from 3:15–4:15 p.m. Price: $160 per quarter Tuesdays: Science Club with Mrs. Walker (K–2nd) in room 109 from 3:15–4:15 p.m....

On Tuesday, December 10, the Lower School held the annual Scripps/Miami Herald fourth and fifth-grade spelling bee. The students came well-prepared and excited to show their spelling expertise. After 12 rounds of intense competition, Jade Engen-Ruiz (fourth grade) won the spelling bee. As a result, Jade will go on to represent Westminster Academy in the Miami Herald/Scripps National Spelling Bee in March. Words spelled correctly and led to the final round were: “brambles,” “fiercest,” and  “mulish.” Ethan Manuel (fourth grade) won second place, and Kathyan Pierre (fifth grade) won third place....
