The Men’s Water Polo team had a tremendous season. If not for the premature ending, they would have likely finished with a district title and a strong shot at qualifying for the state tournament. Commitment and hard work were the keys to their success. They started the preseason with challenging captain’s practices. Additionally, many of the players did double training by adding a practice during the morning hours before school. The Ladies’ Water Polo team had a great season highlighted by close wins and abundant scoring. Because of COVID-19, the ladies missed the opportunity to regain the district championship. However, the season culminated in a remarkable 12–11 senior night victory against Cypress Bay High School. The team fought hard until the end of every game and showed tremendous improvement throughout the season. USA Water Polo selected WA seventh-grade student, David Maxson, to join the Olympic Development Program Regional Team. Since almost 500 student-athletes participated in the selection process, we congratulate him on this accomplishment! USA Water Polo is the National Governing Body for water polo in the United States. Because their mission includes the development pipeline of future athletes for the Olympic Games, USA Water Polo launched an official Olympic Development Program in 2009.
