State Bound! Our WA community rallied together at today’s all-school send-off to cheer on our Lady Lions Competitive Cheer Team as they head to the State Championships! After strong finishes at Regionals—sixth in their division and third in their conference—the team will compete on Friday, January 23, at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland (3:48 p.m.). We are grateful for the hard work of our cheerleaders and coaches and how they represent Westminster Academy with excellence, determination, and school spirit! We’re excited to launch Discover After-School Enrichment Clubs for Lower School and PREP students this quarter—led by our faculty and staff! These weekly clubs provide a safe, fun, and engaging environment that fosters creativity, critical thinking, social skills, and personal growth. Clubs meet once a week from 3:00–4:00 p.m., August 25–October 3. Pick-up is from 4:00–4:30 p.m. via the 22nd Ave car line. Registration opens Tuesday, August 19, at noon at wa.edu/discover. Lady Lions Basketball Congratulations to our Lady Lions Basketball team on their thrilling 44-38 victory over Somerset Prep to claim the District Championship! WA Athletics continues to shine with energy and enthusiasm! Over the Christmas break, our Lions showcased their talents and competitive spirit, excelling across multiple sports and tournaments. Men’s Basketball Our Men’s team competed in the prestigious City of Palms Tournament in Fort Myers and the King Cotton Classic in Arkansas. Over the break, Alex Lloyd hit an incredible milestone, scoring his 2,000th career point—congratulations, Alex! Ladies’ Basketball The Lady Lions played at the Cherokee Invitational in North Carolina and the Tampa Bay Christmas Invitational, facing high-level teams nationwide.
