We were honored to welcome Dr. Alveda King to our campus last week. Dr. King is the niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. She is an author, speaker, and activist with a passion for the pro-life cause. Dr. King serves as a Senior Fellow at the Institute for Faith & Culture and is the Chair of the Center for the American Dream at America First Policy Institute. This past weekend, the cast and crew of Godspell put on three extraordinary performances under the direction of Mrs. Cox, Upper School Drama teacher, and senior Rowan Smith as the student director. We are incredibly proud of our Fine Arts Department and all who were involved in this fantastic fall production! It was a unique opportunity to share about the love of Christ. One of our Portrait of a Graduate traits is “compassionate contributor.” Our goal is that students would recognize all they have been given is a gift from God and for His glory alone, respond with a grateful attitude, and be generous in action—seeking to help those who cannot help themselves. Grades 3–6 participated in Digital T.H.I.N.K. Week, led by PREP Principal Dr. Rebekah Owens. The purpose of this week was to help students make thoughtful and positive choices with technology while recognizing that their choices affect their community and themselves. Each day, students and teachers focused on a specific topic supporting good digital citizenship.
