A familiar face is walking the WA halls with a new purpose. This week we welcome back Mrs. Lisa Wilson as our Director of Fine Arts.Mrs. Wilson is a graduate of Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey, having studied organ with Robert Carwithen and conducting with Joseph Flummerfelt. She spent 12 years as the Upper School Chorus Teacher before moving to Augusta, Georgia. She was instrumental in forming the fine arts program at WA, where under her direction, the choir consistently won superior awards in national competitions and performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City, Saint Patrick’s Cathedral and famous European...

For the past three years, we have had students representatives at the Florida Atlantic University side-by-side orchestral performance (David Hong, Alyssa Babaian, and Olivia Gaus). This auditioned event takes qualified students to perform alongside members of the FAU orchestra which is directed by Dr. Laura Joella. Dr. Joella and Professor Cornelia Brubeck, who leads the cello faculty at FAU, visited the Concert Orchestra for a masterclass. She worked with the orchestra on music that we will perform on their trip to Ireland in the spring....

The Westminster Academy High School Concert Band, Concert Orchestra, and Choirs will be present a special Christmas program, “Lessons & Carols,” on Tuesday, December 5, at 7:30 p.m. in the sanctuary of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church.The program is based on “A Festival of Lessons and Carols” first held on Christmas Eve in 1918 at King’s College in England.Over the years the order service has been adapted and presented by many schools and churches around the world.
