The All-County Orchestras are auditioned ensembles where students are selected from a county-wide competition of both public and private schools. The orchestras, which meets four times and then presents a performance, are conducted by well-known county or state professionals.

We are proud of our Middle and High School students who auditioned and are now in the All-County Orchestras!

Evening Of The Arts At Westminster Academy

Last night, Wednesday, April 20, was a fine arts extravaganza as both the middle and high school art students, orchestras, and choirs glorified God with their gifts and talents.

Our Juried Art Show started at 5:30 p.m. in the Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church Narthex. The festival showcased artwork from all Middle and High School art classes. We could not be prouder of all the hard work these students put into their work.

The evening continued with our Orchestra and Choir concerts in the Coral Ridge Sanctuary. Our students performed exceptionally, excelling in their pieces. Mr. Schwartz changed things up a bit for his orchestra concert by combing groups who do not usually perform together and the results were great! Our younger students saw what extra practice will help them accomplish and our older students were able to lean into our younger students with advice on the instruments.

Congratulations to all our students who earned special recognition and awards last night. We are proud of every student in our Fine Arts Department!

Middle School Orchestra Competes at Universal Studios!

March 10, 2016 Posted in: Arts Tags: , , ,

The Middle School Concert Orchestra will be competing at Music USA’s festival Friday, March 11 at Universal Studios. This all day affair has the added benefit of a fantastic park to enjoy!

It’s a competition of schools with similar music programs to ours. We compete within our areas (middle school orchestra for instance) not against other groups outside of our field.

We are excited about our Middle School Orchestra students and wish them the best of luck!
