Top 10 Tips to Persuade Picky Eaters

Getting kids to try new foods can feel like a battle, but don’t give up! With patience, creativity, and these top 10 tips, you can help expand even the pickiest palates:
1. Change it up – Try different spices, flavors, or cooking methods.
2. One meal for all – Skip making separate meals for picky eaters.
3. Let them choose – Get kids involved in shopping or cooking.
4. Make it an experiment – Offer small samples and encourage curiosity.
5. Make it fun – Think finger foods, dips, and cool shapes!
6. Relax – It’s OK if they refuse a meal or don’t clean their plate.
7. No bribery needed – Encourage, don’t force.
8. Lead by example – Eat a variety of foods yourself.
9. Create a positive mealtime – Distraction-free family meals are key!
10. Slow and steady wins the race – Introduce one new food at a time. Once they accept it, introduce others with similar flavors and textures!

Spring Gardening for Beginners!

If you’re new to #gardening, here are some key things to consider before you start planting:
• Know Your Limits: Consider your local climate, growing season, and how much time your family can commit.
• Plan Ahead: Research how long plants take to mature. You don’t want to be surprised when your tree doesn’t fruit for seven years, or your tomatoes ripen faster than you can use them!
• Get Your Family on Board: Gardening is a team effort! A well-planned pitch with a budget, timeline, and labor expectations can make all the difference.
• Gather Your Tools: Gloves, trowels, rakes, and shovels are must-haves. Borrow from gardening-savvy neighbors to save money and gain some expert tips!
• Start Small: If this is your first garden, don’t plant more than you can manage, especially if you’re short on helping hands.
• Space Your Crops: If they’re too close together, they’ll have to compete for resources, and they may not grow as well. Pay attention to the instructions on the seed packets.
• Organize Your Planting: Stagger beans, lettuces, and other fast-growing crops. Once you’ve harvested, you can replant the area to keep the harvest going throughout the season.
