This past week, the All-State Music Conference gathered some of the most talented students in the state for one of three main programs—All-State Orchestra, All-State Band, and All-State Choir. Therefore, these WA students who traveled to Tampa are among the best in the state. They met for three days of rehearsals before putting on a full program at the Tampa Convention Center.Alicia An (sophomore) played the violin and performed in the All-State Honors Orchestra. We want to thank our Fine Arts students, faculty, and staff for spreading joy throughout our community this Christmas season. Their hard work included countless hours of rehearsals and performances that added to their existing busy schedules. The invitations and requests kept pouring in, and under the direction of Mrs. Lisa Wilson, they were all fulfilled.Our students could be found in Orlando for two performances of Disney’s Candlelight Processional at Epcot. The Westminster Academy High School Concert Band, Concert Orchestra, and Choirs will present a special Christmas program, “Lessons & Carols,” on Tuesday, December 11, at 7:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church. Based on “A Festival of Lessons and Carols,” this program will feature many of the gifted students we have at WA as we celebrate the birth of Christ.This classic worship service was first held on Christmas Eve in 1918 at King’s College in England.
