Once you’ve seen our teachers’ talents on Tuesday, you will get a chance to enjoy our students’ talents on Tuesday, September 24, at 7:00 p.m. That evening, students of all the WA fine arts programs will fill the Coral Ridge Sanctuary for the Festival of the Fine Arts benefit concert. From lower school to high school, WA students plan to entertain and inspire. High school students in the choir, orchestra and band will each perform. Middle school art teacher, Mrs. Sonja Timmer, took a step and entered her first ever art show at Artserve. Artserve is an institution in Broward County that fosters artistic growth to maximize the cultural footprint in our community. Every year they host a juried art show, ArtBravo, to feature South Florida’s top artists who have achieved acclaim in a range of mediums. This year, Artserve had 164 artists enter, and the judges chose 96 pieces for the exhibition. We are proud to announce that WA is partnering with First Baptist Fort Lauderdale for their Christmas Pageant. Many of our students and families have participated in the pageant over the decades. However, this year WA has the unique opportunity to showcase our various fine arts groups during the pageant’s Holiday Dinners. Offered in addition to the performances, these dinners are in the Downtown Event Center, just steps from the auditorium.
