Students in grades 6–8 showcased their talents in both technical and performance theater categories, attended world-class theatrical performances, and spent meaningful time together in God’s word. Westminster Academy students showcased their musical talents in the All-County Honors Orchestra and All-County Honors Band, prestigious events that bring together top young musicians across Broward County. Over four days of intensive rehearsals, guided by a distinguished conductor, these students prepared and performed three exceptional pieces. Orchestras were grouped by age: Bronze (6th grade), Silver (7th & 8th grade), and Gold (high school). For 36 years, Westminster Academy’s PK4 students have proudly participated in the beloved Red, White, and Blue Bike Parade in honor of Veterans Day. This longstanding tradition allows our youngest students to celebrate the day in a meaningful way, decorating their bikes with patriotic stars, stripes, and American flags before riding through the Lower School hallways and gym. This past Saturday, our WA Junior Thespians showcased their talents at the District Competition held at Somerset Academy in Pembroke Pines. Competing in a range of performance and technical theater categories, they earned an impressive nine Superior and 20 Excellent ratings from the judges. A special shoutout to Akaila Bhola (Grade 6), who received Honorable Mention/Judges Choice for her outstanding marketing designs! Fourth-grade students concluded their Florida geography unit with an exciting field trip to Everglades National Park. They explored Shark Valley and Gator Park, gaining an immersive experience of Florida’s unique habitat. At Shark Valley, students enjoyed a scenic tram ride through the Everglades, observing wildlife like alligators and blue herons. They also climbed the Lookout Tower for panoramic views.
