Our WA Jr. Thespians had an outstanding weekend at the States Competition in Orlando, earning 9 Excellent and 3 Superior ratings in performance and technical events. Superior Honors: Isabella Martinez – Monologue from Funny Girl Mila Blackmon – Costume Design (Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Musical) Akaila Bhola – Publicity/Marketing Design (Mean Girls: High School Edition) Students also received Excellent ratings across solos, duets, small-group acting, large-group musical numbers from Anastasia: Teen Edition, and multiple technical categories. New World Symphony TripOur sixth–eighth-grade Band & Orchestra students had an inspiring day at the New World Center for the Arts in Miami Beach, where they attended a performance by the New World Symphony. This interactive visit deepened their musical appreciation and offered new challenges in their musical growth. Westminster Academy Fine Arts students had an outstanding showing at the Florida Music Education Association Professional Development Conference and 2026 All-State concerts, held January 14–17 in Tampa. These prestigious events bring together the state’s top student musicians to rehearse and perform under the direction of renowned guest conductors. WA junior Liam Pace earned the honor of performing in the All-State TTBB Honor Choir after successfully passing three rounds of rigorous statewide auditions, showcasing his dedication and vocal talent. We’re excited to launch Discover After-School Enrichment Clubs for Lower School and PREP students this quarter—led by our faculty and staff! These weekly clubs provide a safe, fun, and engaging environment that fosters creativity, critical thinking, social skills, and personal growth. Clubs meet once a week from 3:00–4:00 p.m., August 25–October 3. Pick-up is from 4:00–4:30 p.m. via the 22nd Ave car line. Registration opens Tuesday, August 19, at noon at wa.edu/discover.
