A Word from Dr. Satterly—January 22, 2026

Dear WA Community,

Have you noticed the empty lot to the north? Only piles of rubble remain from the old hotel—but soon, even these will be gone. As I’ve reflected on all that has unfolded so far this school year, a devotion from one of my first Convocation chapels – “What mean these stones?” – came to mind.

When Joshua led the Israelites across the Jordan, twelve stones were set up as a memorial—a visible reminder of God’s faithfulness. He instructed the people, “…when your children ask in time to come, ‘What do these stones mean to you?’ then you shall tell them…so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the hand of the Lord is mighty…” (Joshua 4:6–24).

Like those stones, the rubble on our North Campus reminds us that God is at work at Westminster Academy. It points to His faithfulness and provision and invites us to mark milestone moments—so students, families, and our community will know God has done this.

Recently, our staff had the privilege of hearing from Coach Smith, who is retiring after 48 years of faithful teaching and coaching at WA. As he shared his wisdom and stories with the next generation of teachers, we were reminded that legacy is built by faithfully passing along what has been entrusted to us—preserving the heart of our school for those who will carry it forward.

Just as we marked Demo Day with prayer and a ceremonial swing of the hammer, we now mark the next milestone in WA’s story: the launch of The Next Chapter Capital Campaign.

One Night. One Reveal. One Historic Moment.
The first page of WA’s next chapter is about to be written—and you’re invited to witness it firsthand.
