13 Nov Fall Fine Arts Highlights
It’s been an exciting season for our Fine Arts students, filled with incredible performances, honors, and achievements across choir, orchestra, band, and theatre.
Choir:
Congratulations to Greta Harms, who represented WA in the Florida ACDA Honor Choir. Greta was one of just 176 students selected statewide to perform John Rutter’s Gloria under the direction of world-renowned conductor Dr. André Thomas—a remarkable accomplishment that showcased her talent and dedication.
Orchestra:
Three of our high school musicians, Agape Chen, David Benedict, and Jamil Boctor, participated in the FAU Side-by-Side event, performing alongside university musicians under the direction of Dr. Laura Joella. What an inspiring opportunity to learn and grow!
Band & Orchestra:
Our sixth through eighth-grade ensembles honored our nation’s heroes in their “Salute to Service” Veterans Day Concert, performing patriotic pieces including God Bless America, Fanfare for the Common Man, and Grand Old Flag.
Thespians:
Our Jr. Thespian troupe earned 20 SUPERIOR and 8 EXCELLENT ratings at Districts—the best results in school history! Every student qualified for the State Competition in Orlando this February. Special congratulations to Ben Airdo, Nico Elisco, and Akaila Bhola for receiving Honorable Mention for Judges’ Choice. We’re also cheering on our high school thespians as they compete this weekend!
We’re so proud of our Fine Arts students for their dedication, creativity, and excellence on stage, in rehearsal, and beyond!
