20 Aug A Word from Dr. Satterly—August 14, 2025
Dear WA Community,
Our campus is alive with energy and excitement as we begin our 55th school year. To those returning, we are grateful for your continued commitment, and to those new to our community, we are thrilled to begin this journey with you.
We kicked off the year with Convocation, a cherished WA tradition that truly sets us apart. Convocation is where academia and faith intersect, the essence of who we are as a school. We gathered as a community to celebrate what God has done, is doing, and will yet do in our lives and in our school. Every school has a first day, but not every school begins with a Convocation.
It also serves as an opportunity to introduce our theme for the 2025–26 school year. Last year’s theme, Of One Accord, united us in heart and voice. This year, our theme—Chart the Course—guides us forward, inspired by Psalm 32:8:
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.”
God promises to direct our journey—not by our own strength, but through His Word, His people, and most importantly, He offers Himself, his presence—“my eye upon you.” Just as travelers once relied on maps or TripTiks and now on GPS, the principle is the same: we must set a direction and follow it.
For 2025–26, we are charting the course toward four key milestones:
- Renewal of Christian Schools of Florida (CSF) accreditation
- Recertification with the Council for Educational Standards and Accountability (CESA)
- Development of a new strategic plan
- Clearing and developing the La Quinta property as part of our Next Chapter Campaign
Since 1971, Westminster Academy has trusted that while we plan our steps, the Lord directs our path (Proverbs 16:9). As we embark on this school year, we do so with gratitude, confidence, and faith—knowing He is charting our course.
