13 Nov A Word from Dr. Satterly—November 13, 2025
Dear WA Community,
As we enter this season of Thanksgiving, the familiar words of Don Moen’s song “Give Thanks” come to mind: “Give thanks with a grateful heart…”
At Westminster Academy, we truly have much for which to be grateful. This fall has been filled with moments that reflect God’s goodness and faithfulness, from a wonderful first quarter to the acquisition of La Quinta, opening exciting possibilities for the future development of our North Campus, and the generosity demonstrated through our Annual Fund Drive.
We celebrate Westminster Academy’s recognition by Niche as the #1 Best Christian K–12 School and Best Christian High School in Broward County, an honor that reflects the heart of our mission and the dedication of our teachers and families.
We give thanks for the record-breaking attendance at Open House, the outstanding achievements of our student-athletes, and our Fine Arts students, who continue to represent WA with excellence in the community. At Westminster Academy, academic excellence lies at our core. We are grateful for our AP Scholar recognitions and the early college acceptances our seniors are receiving. Across every grade level, we continue to see our students grow in faith, learning, and leadership.
This week, we honored veterans with deep appreciation during our Veterans Day Chapel, and our pre-med students recently served others in Guatemala, living out the call to be compassionate contributors as the hands and feet of Jesus.
When we pause to reflect, we find countless reasons to give thanks—for God’s provision, for the mission of our school, and for the community He has brought together here at WA. I am especially thankful for you, our families, who faithfully support Christian education with your time, talent, and treasure. As you celebrate this Thanksgiving, may you find moments to pause, reflect, and give thanks—because of all the Lord has done for us.
“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.” — Psalm 107:1
Blessings,
