A Word from Dr. Satterly—September 16, 2025

Dear WA Community,

The first weeks of school have already given us moments to remember—Convocation, the return of Safety Patrol, the back-to-school tailgate, our LPA kickoff, and our high school students exploring future opportunities at the Christian College Fair. I am truly thankful for the way our teachers, parents, and students are working together to lay a strong foundation for the year ahead.

This year, we are especially mindful of the milestones God places along our journey. Milestones help us remember His goodness, reflect on how far we’ve come, learn important lessons, and celebrate His blessings. We need these reminders, as it is easy to forget. Thankfully, God provides them—whether it’s the first day of school, a birthday, a family trip, or a cherished moment with grandparents. Each is a signpost that says: “God is with you. Don’t forget.”

A recent visit from my grandsons brought this to life for me. They climbed into my favorite chair, books in hand, and settled in side by side. I watched them there, completely absorbed in their reading, and felt a wave of gratitude. In that quiet, ordinary moment, I saw a milestone—a reminder of the joy of family, the gift of curiosity, daily blessings, and the significance of generational legacy. That chair, in our library, a favorite part of our home, became a symbol of God’s faithfulness and the importance of nurturing both heart and mind—a principle we hold dear at Westminster Academy.

As we reflect on the weight of current events, we are reminded of both the brokenness of our world and the hope we have in Christ. Last Friday, we experienced our largest LPA Prayer Walk yet—a powerful milestone of God’s presence and faithfulness at Westminster Academy. Guided by our theme “Chart the Course” and Psalm 32:8, parents, staff, and students prayed over every corner of school life, trusting that Christ is our anchor and our ultimate source of hope.

We also celebrate progress in our WA journey, including the long-term vision taking shape at the La Quinta property. From the installation of the security fence to the new banner declaring the “Future Home of the Westminster Academy Expansion,” we see God guiding our steps and blessing our path as we continue to chart the course ahead.

May this school year be full of moments—big and small—that remind us of God’s faithfulness, inspire our students’ growth, and strengthen our WA community.
