16 Apr Fifth Grade Makes a Splash at SeaCamp!
Our 5th-grade students recently embarked on an unforgettable adventure during their annual SeaCamp trip—and what a journey it was! Over three sun-soaked days in the Florida Keys, students had the opportunity to dive deep into hands-on marine science while soaking in the wonder of God’s creation all around them.
This immersive experience allowed students to learn by doing as they explored the unique ecosystems of Florida’s coastal waters. Through kayaking, wading through seagrass beds, snorkeling over coral reefs, and even fishing, students discovered firsthand the beauty and diversity of the marine life that thrives in our state’s waters.
One of the trip’s most talked-about highlights? A squid dissection that had students putting their curiosity (and courage!) to the test. And for the boldest adventurers, the chance to swim in a shark pool with three Bonnethead Sharks was an experience they’ll never forget!
In the evenings, students reflected on the day’s discoveries and connected with friends in meaningful ways. The final night was especially memorable as they gathered around a cozy bonfire for songs, skits, and storytelling—creating sweet memories and strengthening friendships that will last a lifetime.
SeaCamp was a time of educational enrichment and an exceptional opportunity for our students to appreciate the beauty of God’s world, practice teamwork, and grow in confidence and curiosity. Thank you to our incredible teachers and parent chaperones who made this trip possible!
