08 Oct A Word from Dr. Satterly—October 8, 2026
Dear WA Community,
Recently, I sat with my granddaughter and read one of those familiar childhood books: Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?
The question is simple, but it made me think about how often what we see depends on where we choose to look.
When you look at Westminster Academy, what do you see?
Perhaps you see a classroom, a Lion on the field, a performance on stage, a robot taking shape, chapel, or friends laughing at lunch.
But if you Fix Your Eyes and look a little closer, you begin to see something more.
You see students discovering their gifts, deepening their faith, building character, and finding purpose. You see teachers who invest deeply and a faculty committed to continually growing in their own knowledge and craft.
That commitment is central to The Next Steps, our strategic plan. We believe academic excellence begins with an excellent faculty and a culture of continuous growth.
Tomorrow, while our students begin Fall Break, our faculty will gather for professional development. Some have already spent this week learning at the CESA Symposium in Dallas. These investments matter because what happens behind the scenes shapes what our students experience every day.
When we Fix Our Eyes on our students, we see that growth happens through a teacher who recognizes potential, a coach who teaches perseverance, a fine arts experience that reveals a gift, or a chapel message that takes root.
These are the moments that become the Westminster Academy story.
In this issue, you’ll see just a few of the ways our Lions are learning, leading, serving, and growing.
What do you see?
I see young people discovering who God created them to be. I see a community investing in their future. And I see God’s faithfulness in it all.
Fix Your Eyes. See the Story.
To God be the glory,
