A Word from Dr. Satterly—August 20, 2026

Dear WA Community,

As we begin another school year at Westminster Academy, our campus is once again filled with familiar faces, new beginnings, and anticipation for all that God has in store. I am grateful to begin this year together as a community committed to Christ and to the education and discipleship of our students.

We opened the year as we do each year—with Convocation. Before we turn our attention to academics, athletics, the arts, and all that lies ahead, we gathered to worship, pray, and remember the foundation of all we do: Jesus Christ.

During Convocation, I introduced our theme for the 2026–27 school year: Fix Your Eyes, inspired by Hebrews 12:2:

“Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before Him, He endured the cross…”

What we fix our eyes on matters. In a world filled with distractions and competing voices, we are called to look to Jesus—to His Word, His example, and His promises. We all have a worldview, and what we look to shapes the way we understand the world and live within it. There will be moments of joy and moments that require perseverance. In every circumstance, we want our students to know that their identity and hope are found in Christ.

My prayer is that Fix Your Eyes will become more than a school theme. May it remind our entire community that whatever lies ahead, Jesus is worthy of our attention, our trust, and our lives.

Thank you for partnering with us and for entrusting your children to Westminster Academy. I look forward to all that God will do in the lives of our students and throughout our WA community in the months ahead.

May we keep our eyes fixed on Jesus and faithfully follow Him wherever He leads.

In Christ,

Dr. Joel Satterly
