Coach Cercols Shares Water Polo—and WA Spirit—Across the Globe

Coming off an unforgettable season leading our Lions to their first-ever State Championship, WA Water Polo Coach Dani Cercols took his passion for the sport—and for mentorship—across the world.

This summer, Coach Cercols joined a team of world-renowned coaches, Olympians, and international water polo stars on a two-week outreach trip to South Africa and Zimbabwe. The group’s mission was to promote water polo and provide training opportunities for youth to develop their skills and foster a lifelong love for the sport.

Over 340 children learned new techniques and strategies under the guidance of these top professionals. The team also visited local schools and communities, donating clothing, equipment, and other items—including WA merchandise contributed by our aquatics families.

A native of Barcelona and a former professional player with over 25 years of experience, Coach Cercols has represented Spain as a member of the national team. His coaching career has included positions in Brazil, France, and New Zealand, and he currently serves as a youth coach for USA Water Polo. Since joining WA in 2018, Coach Cercols has built a program rooted in excellence and teamwork. His leadership—both on campus and abroad—reflects the heart of our mission: to pursue excellence and make a lasting impact for God’s glory, wherever He leads.
