Tomorrow night, eighth-grade student, Jade Moller, will receive the Silver Key award for her artwork Birds of a Feather at the exhibition opening of The Broward Regional Scholastic Art Awards at the Young at Art Museum. The Silver Key award is given to stand-out works submitted to local programs that demonstrate exceptional ability by the Scholastics Art & Writing Awards, presented by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers. A familiar face is walking the WA halls with a new purpose. This week we welcome back Mrs. Lisa Wilson as our Director of Fine Arts. Mrs. Wilson is a graduate of Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey, having studied organ with Robert Carwithen and conducting with Joseph Flummerfelt. She spent 12 years as the Upper School Chorus Teacher before moving to Augusta, Georgia. She was instrumental in forming the fine arts program at WA, where under her direction, the choir consistently won superior awards in national competitions and performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City, Saint Patrick’s Cathedral and famous European...

This year’s Juried Art Show witnessed some of Westminster Academy’s best fine art talent. Every student enrolled in high school art classes submitted work that they created over the course of the 2016-2017 school year to be judged.
