The school spirit continues this Friday, August 17, with the first home football game. Our Varsity Lions will face Palm Glades Prep at 7:00 p.m. at our west campus Athletic Complex. To rally around our team, lower school students can pair a red, white, or blue WA spirit t-shirt with their uniform pants, shorts or skorts to school. Upper school students can pair a red WA spirit t-shirt with their uniform pants or shorts. Please save face-painting and any other changes to the normal school uniforms for the game. Again this year, we will be selling the stadium-style box seating in the gymnasium and football stadium to help raise funds for the basketball, cheer, football, and volleyball programs.  After 15 days of spring practices and workouts, our Varsity Football Lions defeated Somerset Academy of Pembroke Pines on Friday, May 18, at the west campus Athletic Complex. Despite the rainy forecast, the Lord blessed both teams with great, breezy football weather. The close-knit Lions appeared to be in control of the game from the outset. Somerset found yardage difficult to come by because WA defense rarely allowed any gain beyond the line of scrimmage. WA seventh-grade student, Micah Lewis, was selected from all of USA Football’s spring and summer camps in 2017 to play Running Back for one of this year’s U14 teams: the U14 Stars. Micah is spending this week practicing with his new teammates in Arlington, Texas and will play this Friday, January 12, at 10:30 a.m. in AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys.
