The Men’s Lacrosse Team will play their first-ever home game next Monday, March 25, at 7:00 p.m. Facing North Broward Prep, the Lacrosse Lions will hit their home turf at the west campus Athletic Complex. While coming home with the State Championship Title was enough to celebrate, the awards for WA Basketball keep coming. The Florida High School Athletic Association named WA senior Chase Johnston the 4A Men's Basketball Player of the Year. Chase's accomplishments this year on the court include breaking a few records. First, he scored 52 points in a single game at the Montverde Academy Invitational, breaking the previous record held by Ben Simmons who is now a professional basketball player. WA Robotics Team, Shark Attack FRC Team 744, returned from the break with accolades and awards. They spent their Spring Break at the FIRST Robotics Orlando Regional Competition at the University of Central Florida. The team arrived with more than 26 pounds of parts, wire, electronics, cameras, and pneumatic tubing. They had a bagged, but very incomplete robot. Throughout the weekend, the pit crew and programmers worked continuously to build, program, and calibrate their robot.
