In the last 12 months, the Lions Athletic Club (Boosters) was newly formed and focused on supporting our Westminster Academy student-athletes to excel on and off the field with new equipment, gear, and facilities. You can support the Lions Athletic Club by purchasing a family banner (2' x 3') for $250 for the 2020-2021 academic year on East or West campus. “The depth of the foundation determines the strength of the structure.” These words were the headline of one of Westminster Academy’s very first publications back in 1971. Yesterday evening I was driving north on 18th Avenue near the border between Pompano Beach and Fort Lauderdale. On the east side of the street stand enormous power poles. We would like to congratulate the following individuals on receiving scholarships provided by families in memory of their loved ones. Lorie Hayes Scholarship—This scholarship was created by the adult children of Lorie Hayes, who are alumni and current parents of students at WA. Their mother, Lorie Hayes, was only 21 when she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Throughout her battle with MS, Lorie exemplified hope in adversity, as well as continually pointing others to Christ. You did it! We exceeded our #GivingTuesdayNow goal, raising $36,550! One week ago, we asked you to partner with us to provide tuition assistance for WA families financially impacted by COVID-19. Current parents, grandparents, faculty, staff, the School Board, alumni, and alumni parents all joined together.
