The International Thespian Society (ITS) had its third annual induction ceremony on Thursday, October 17. ITS President, Kylie Mathis, handed certificates, membership cards, and ITS pins to nine new members of Troupe 8570. This honor society recognizes, encourages, and rewards students for work in all aspects of theatre. In addition, ITS students are honored at a national level and can compete in local, state, and national competitions. Dear WA Community, Fall has always been my favorite season. I understand that many love spring as it represents renewal. However, I’m drawn more to the notion of harvest—reaping what has been sown, gathering the fruits of labor, or as the great hymn says, “bringing in the sheaves.” Living in South Florida blurs the changing of the seasons. The high school robotics team, Shark Attack FRC Team 744, invites you to their preseason competition this Saturday. Mission Mayhem FIRST Robotics Competition—Destination Deep Space will gather Florida-based robots on Saturday, October 19, in the gym at Dillard High School. Calling all golfers! It’s not too late to hit the green on Monday to support WA! It should be a beautiful day on the course, and what better way to spend Fall Break than at the Coral Ridge Country Club. The WA annual golf tournament sponsored by All American Windows and Doors will be held over Fall Break this Monday, October 21, at the Coral Ridge Country Club.
